ROZLYN DE BUSSEY

Since my beginnings in glass making processes as an arts practice and my ongoing personal studies, I have developed and combined these historical skills I had been taught in various other methods of glass forming, including carving and engraving techniques, as well as using vitreous enamels and lustres in warm and cold glass technical processes. It is more than satisfying to see the works completed after many hours in their making, the final form has come into fruition and a small piece of ones soul is transformed

My more recent works are in warm glass making processes, and involves kiln casting and slumping techniques together with fusing and encasing vitreous enamels and lustres between layers of glass, a technique called fused incalmo. Surface painted technical processes are also included in what I make and combiine the knowledge I have learned to my best advantage to produce the form I am working on. Usually, engraving and carving processes are also involved in my works too, be it for exhibitions, production or site specific works, these historical processes are what I use to create glass as a form of artistic expression.
